Ways of Working Together
Different projects call for different levels of support.
Whether you're shaping a single room, making a series of considered changes or undertaking a larger renovation, each way of working is designed to bring clarity and direction to the process.
Each project begins with a conversation. From there, the level of involvement reflects the scale, complexity and depth of what you're looking to create.

My comprehensive interior design service, from initial concept through to completion — for projects ranging from a single room to an entire home.
Creating a beautiful home is only part of the brief. It also needs to feel right for the people who live there.
A significant interior project brings together hundreds of decisions — from how spaces connect and function to colour, materials, lighting, furnishings and the details that give a home its character.
You don't need to arrive with all those decisions made, or even with a particular design style in mind.
Guided by Earth States®, the process begins with understanding how you naturally respond to colour and space, alongside how you live, what matters to you and what you're looking to create.
That understanding gives me a more informed place from which to design.
From there, I bring my eye, experience and judgement to developing and guiding the design as a whole — bringing together function, aesthetics, the character and context of your home, and the details that make it unmistakably yours.
The result is a considered, coherent home that works beautifully for the way you live, feels instinctively right and is unmistakably yours.

A focused reworking of one or two rooms or defined areas when something about the space isn't quite right.
Sometimes a room doesn't need starting again. It needs understanding differently.
Perhaps the layout isn't working, the room feels underused, or the elements within it no longer sit comfortably together. You may know something needs to change without necessarily knowing what — or why.
Guided by Earth States®, I begin by understanding how you respond to the space: what's working, what isn't, and which qualities feel naturally right to you.
Together, we can identify what deserves to remain, what may be contributing to the problem and where change will make the greatest difference.
From there, I refine the layout, flow and design — working with what already serves you and changing what needs to change.
The result is a more coherent space that works better for the way you live and feels more instinctively right to you.
1–2 rooms
Layout, flow and design refinement
A clear, cohesive direction

Choosing colour isn't difficult because you haven't looked at enough paint charts.
It's difficult because a paint chart can't tell you what will feel instinctively right to you in your home.
Expert guidance to create a considered, cohesive colour palette for you and your home.
Whether you're reconsidering one room, connecting adjoining spaces or developing a whole-home palette, the consultation begins by understanding your individual relationship with colour.
Drawing on Earth States®, colour and design psychology and my experience as an interior designer, I'll help identify patterns in the qualities of colour to which you naturally respond.
That understanding provides a starting point for Earth States® Colour Calibration — developing and refining your palette according to how and where each colour will be experienced, its proportion, and the desired outcome for the space.
This means considering the particular qualities of your home — its light, architecture, existing materials and furnishings — alongside any colours, objects or associations that carry particular meaning for you.
Colour is never considered in isolation. Each choice is made in relation to the other elements of the space, creating colour relationships that work together as a coherent whole.
Choosing colour isn't only about finding the right hue or nuance. I also consider the quality and composition of the paint itself, working with high-quality makers such as Edward Bulmer Natural Paint, Farrow & Ball and Argile, with particular consideration given to lower-VOC formulations and mineral-based finishes where appropriate.
This might include
A colour consultation for one room
Connecting colour across adjoining spaces
A whole-home colour palette
Colour guidance for a renovation or new build
The process is collaborative and practical, reducing much of the uncertainty that can come with choosing colour and giving you a clear direction for moving forward.
“I had completely overthought everything before this. The session made it all feel so much clearer — and actually enjoyable. I came away feeling confident in every decision.”
Nicola, Hertfordshire

An in-home consultation to understand your project, your home and what you would like to change.
You don't need to have your project completely worked out before we meet.
You may already know what's not working, have ideas about what you'd like to change, or simply sense that your home could work better for the way you live now.
Part of the purpose of the Initial Consultation is to bring greater clarity to those thoughts before important design decisions are made.
Following the complimentary First Conversation, this is our first meeting in your home — giving us time to explore the space together, discuss what's working and what isn't, and consider the possibilities for what comes next.
During our time together, I'll offer practical advice, ideas and professional direction based on what we discuss and observe, helping to identify what matters most and the level of design support that would be most useful.
The aim is for you to come away with greater clarity about what needs to change and a considered direction for moving forward.
Following the consultation, you'll receive a written report capturing the key recommendations and next steps. It's yours to use as you move forward with your project, whether you choose to continue working with me or not.

The First Conversation
Where it begins.
You don't need to know exactly what you need before getting in touch.
A relaxed, complimentary conversation to hear about your home, your plans and what you're hoping to achieve.
It's an opportunity to talk through your project, ask any initial questions and get a sense of whether working together feels like the right fit.
From there, I'll guide you towards the most appropriate next step.

A well-designed home isn’t just something you see—it’s something you experience.
In the way you move through it.
In how it supports the rhythms and rituals of your day.
How it Unfolds
A clear, guided process — from the first conversation through to a home shaped around you and the way you live.
1. The First Conversation
Every project begins with a conversation about your home, your plans and what you're looking to create.
You don't need to have everything worked out before you get in touch. You may have a clear brief, or simply know that something needs to change.
This is where we begin.
2. The Initial Consultation
We take a deeper look at your home — how you live in it, what is and isn't working, and what matters to you.
Through conversation and observation, I begin to understand your relationship with the place and identify the opportunities within it.
You'll come away with advice, ideas and a clearer sense of direction, whether or not we go on to work together.
3. Defining the Direction
With a better understanding of you, your home and the project, we can establish the most appropriate way forward.
That might mean a focused piece of design advice, a Spatial Reset, an Earth States® Colour Consultation or a more comprehensive design experience.
I'll guide you towards the level of support that's right for you and the scope of what you're looking to achieve.
4. The Design Unfolds
This is where understanding begins to become design.
Earth States® informs the choices around colour and the wider qualities of the space, alongside the architecture, function, context and the things that carry meaning for you.
From spatial planning and lighting to materials, furnishings and the finer details, each decision is considered in relation to the whole.
Nothing is chosen in isolation.
The result is a home that is coherent in its design, personal to you and shaped around the way you want to live.
Creating places that feel instinctively right and unmistakably yours.
A glimpse into the The Design Advisory—one of my ways of working together when you need focused, expert guidance, clarity and direction.

Tell me a little about your project
This is simply a place to begin.
Tell me a little about your home, how you live and what you’re hoping might change. You may already have a clear sense of what you need, or you may simply know that something isn't quite working.
There’s no need to have everything worked out. Share what feels relevant, and we’ll take it from there.
