Earth States® began with one simple observation

Mary Malde Interior Designer inspiration

I've always been fascinated by why some places feel instinctively right, while others never quite do.

As an interior designer, I began to notice something that challenged conventional thinking.

People don't all respond to colour, light, materials and space in the same way.

What leaves one person feeling calm and restored can leave someone else feeling unsettled or disconnected.

It isn't simply a matter of personal taste. It's part of our nature.

That observation changed the way I design.

The process is clear, collaborative, and thoughtfully guided—designed to be as enjoyable as it is considered.

The aim is always a home that feels easy to live in—considered, but never overworked.

The result is a home that feels calm, effortless to live in, and entirely your own.

Part of My Considered Approach

A considered approach to how a home is shaped—working with natural materials, sourcing with care, and bringing in one-of-a-kind pieces and craftsmanship, with a focus on what is made to last.

A home that feels like it has grown with you.

A home that reflects how you live now—
with clarity, confidence, and a deeper sense of what matters.

Spaces that feel calm, cohesive, and easy to live in.
Where everything sits comfortably together, and nothing feels overworked
or out of place.

A home that supports the rhythm of your day,
and brings a quiet sense of enjoyment to how you live within it.

Not just something that looks right—
but something that feels right, instinctively.

Because when your home reflects you, everything else falls into place.
